I Beelieve There's Pollen Everywhere

The name of this painting came to me when I was applying the glitter and liveskeeting my anxiety over the amount of mess it made.

It looks better in person, with the glitter sparkling, but I'm fairly happy with how it photographs, too.

I guesstimated the proportions for the wing mixture; it was about 5 parts Titanium White to 1 part Payne's Grey, with 3-4 parts Gloss Heavy Gel Medium. I might be wrong; it was hard to see the gel medium in the mixture and I concentrated on whipping it into the center of the paint splat, leaving the edges (where there was less paint) alone. I'm pretty happy with the wings; they're close to what I was imagining and I hadn't done anything deliberately translucent like this before.
