Charm Casting Part 4: Other Handy Supplies
There are a few things handy to have for charm casting, besides what I've already covered.
First: charm storage.
If you separate all of your charms into groups, I recommend wedding favor tins. They're small, cheap, and light, and you can find them on Amazon or usually at Michaels.
If you have a few categories alongside a bunch of charms you pick from at random, a bag for TTRPG dice with side pockets on the inside is great - and what I personally use. There are a number of Etsy sellers who make these.
If you don't separate out any of your charms, a single pouch dice bag, a Tarot deck bag, or a Crown Royal bag may work well - you just need to find something that's a good size for your collection.
A dice cup is another accessory you might want, depending on how you cast. I don't use a dice cup to cast but I find it handy to have one for two reasons. First, if I want my querent to pick from a subset of my charms without looking at them, I can put all of that subset in the dice cup and tell them to pull out a pinch of charms. Second, once I've selected all of the charms I'm using, I put them in the dice cup for a good shaking and randomizing.
I recommend getting a cheap dice cup if you don't use it for other purposes; that way, if you find it's not useful, you're not out much.
Lastly, you may still need a case for your whole kit if you haven't picked up a suitcase and your entire kit doesn't fit in your box. Or if you're using the Ampersand shadowbox, it has no lid so you risk things falling out! That particular shadowbox will fit nicely in a 15x16" tote bag from Amazon, though. As with boxes, look at things creatively.
