A Heavier World: Born in Winter

In the first virtual get-together for A Softer World, Effy Wild (the facilitator) mentioned that she enjoys heavy music some of the time. Which made me wonder what it would look like to have a class centered around A Heavier World, or just a series of paintings.

Maybe a class will come later; for now, it's a series of paintings.

I started with Born in Winter by Gojira because it was one of the monthly prompts in my art server. Everything in the imagery is taken from the lyrics.

The background is a watercolor wash with watercolor pencil text. Everything else is metallic acrylics.

I learned the hard way that I need to apply a workable fixative after the watercolor layer; one of my acrylic tubes farted on the paper and I couldn't easily wipe it up because that would reactivate the watercolor. That's why it has a border. I like the border but it wasn't intended to be there.
